The conference commenced with a keynote address by Dr. Mohamed El-Sherif, Chairman of the Expo. Dr. El-Sherif highlighted the rapid advancements in Saudi Arabia’s fashion sector, aligning with Vision 2030. He outlined upcoming initiatives and agreements set to be launched at the Expo in August, aiming to attract new investments, establish factories, and create job opportunities in the fashion, textile, and supporting services sectors.
Dr. El-Sherif emphasized the Expo’s ambition to be the largest of its kind, showcasing the immense potential of the Saudi market and acting as a catalyst for new investments that will enhance the Kingdom’s non-oil GDP. He extended his gratitude to the Saudi government, the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce, and all relevant authorities for their support in facilitating the event.
Egyptian Ambassador Ahmed Farouk spoke on the flourishing trade relations and increasing investments between Egypt and Saudi Arabia. He reaffirmed his commitment to supporting Egyptian-Saudi investments, addressing obstacles, and providing opportunities for business partnerships between the two nations.
Salman Al-Atawi, Director of the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center, expressed confidence in the Expo’s success, predicting significant achievements and advancements in the exhibition and conference sector within the Kingdom. He also noted the Expo’s pivotal role in fostering the growth of the fashion and textile industry.
The Riyadh Chamber of Commerce actively participated in the press conference, signing a partnership agreement to enhance cooperation and initiatives during the Expo, thereby supporting investments.
Additionally, Al-Daffa Company was announced as a sponsor of the Expo, with a partnership agreement signed between the organizing company, Pyramids, and Al-Daffa on the sidelines of the press conference.
